Charlie Stemp affirms his status as a 24-carat stage star in this classic Gershwin musical. He’s matched for poise and sparkle by Carly Anderson as Polly. And everyone’s on song; the ensemble transformed the Act I finale I Got Rhythm into such a collective headrush of coordinated dance moves and improvised percussion it elicited a standing ovation on opening night.
They’d be crazy not to transfer it.
