Justin Bartha Will Join Broadway's Lend Me A Tenor
Producers of the new Broadway production of Ken Ludwig's Lend Me a Tenor confirmed Jan. 5 that Justin Bartha, known for Hollywood's "The Hangover" and the "National Treasure" films, will join the company, which will begin previews on March 11 at the Music Box Theatre. Opening is April 4.He joins Anthony LaPaglia, Tony Shalhoub, Brooke Adams, Mary Catherine Garrison, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Jay Klaitz and Jan Maxwell. Stanley Tucci directs.Bartha will make his Broadway debut in the role of Max, who does some quick thinking to help an opera impresario in Ludwig's farce. Bartha studied at New York University. As Saunders, the show's presenter, conspires to cover for Tito's absence, placate his hot-blooded wife, and distract his most passionate fans, chaos on a truly operatic level ensues."The revival's creative team includes John Lee Beatty (set designer), Martin Pakledinaz, (costume design), Kenneth Posner (lighting design), Peter Hylenski (sound design) and David Loud (musical supervisor).Lend Me a Tenor premiered on Broadway in 1989 and received seven Tony Award nominations, winning two. It was also honored with four Drama Desk Awards. Prior to Broadway, Lend Me a Tenor played London's West End where it received an Olivier Award nomination for Best Comedy.
